NO To Fake Audience!

December 10, 2012

NO To Fake Audience!

Here is a quick notice, I have been feeling extremely upset lately to discover that in this blogosphere there is a certain bunch of people who leave similar flattering comments on all the blogs that they come across just to ask for follow for follow.

This is just outright mean and such bloggers are lowering the benchmark of blogging by exploiting newbies like me. Just because I have a small audience as a beginner, doesn’t mean that I’ll settle down for a growing phony audience.

To my dear “newbie exploiters”, it gives a very bad impression when people read comments like; “thank you for your kind words on my blog, I’m following you now.” , from just about everyone who has commented in return on your post. It just reveals the bitter truth behind your sweet act.

Please note that I do not follow for follow as I don’t want a fake audience, rather sincere readers. Kindly, do not spam for a pay-back follow request. Follow my blog only if you really like it. Furthermore, if you want me to check out your blog, please leave your link below in the comment box. I will follow if only your blog would be of any interest to me.

Thank you.

I seriously hate getting comments like that. I feel so bad though, like I'm not sure if they're being completely fake or they're just like a 12 year old starting off (in which case, they need to learn and I'm happy to be nice until they do!)
I had one blogger spamming the same thing on my blog, even commenting twice on one post telling people about her giveaway >:( so annoying

True 🙁 I don't wish to be rude to people, infact I'd be happy to support them but the way you put things really makes a difference. There are nicer ways of publicizing ones blog.

I understand exactly how you feel as I'm also new to blogging and it's hard when your starting out and are truly interested in what other bloggers have to say and I love commenting on peoples blogs because I honestly do like what they have to say but it feels like these "fake audiences" are ruining it for the rest of us if that makes sense.

I know the feeling! I have NEVER left a Follow for Follow comment or a comment promoting a giveaway. I think it's really tacky. When you walk through the mall you don't see the manager of a store begging you to enter and buy something. It's the same thing. If you like it, you'll follow.

When I got my first "your blog is so nice, it's an inspiration please come look at mine, I just started out" comment, I thought it was sincere and actually followed that girl. Then I saw that she had copy pasted the same message to others. I unfollowed her :/

I agree completely! I find that so disrespectful. I usually don't say much about it but I really hate getting comments like "Great blog, followed!" and then a link. A lot of blog hops promote that follow-for-follow stuff and I think that you should only follow someone back, or follow them at all, if you are genuinely interested in reading their posts. The only time I personally will leave a comment on a blog for any reason is if I like their content and plan on returning. I wish everyone was that way.

ok so i really like your blog but this post has left me feeling weird, sweety they arent forcing you to follow they are just promoting, if you like their blog you should follow, if u dont then dont.they arent begging you to follow its promotion. its like you'd never visit a store until and unless you get to see some advertisement, y take life so hard. chill and enjoy. almost 80% of the world around is fake so let them be dont take it to heart <3h

Dear, I believe you haven't read this post properly because as long as promotion is concerned, I have mentioned that feel free to leave me your links here and I'd love to check your blog, just don't ask me follow for follow because that's outright rude.
