Selfie Project Skincare Review: Cute Packaging, Easy Everyday Masks

January 3, 2026

Skincare doesn’t always have to be complicated or overly clinical. Sometimes, it’s simply about taking a moment for yourself putting on a mask, slowing down, and enjoying a small act of self-care. The Selfie Project range fits neatly into that space, offering fun, colourful products that feel more like a treat than a targeted treatment.

When browsing the drugstore, it’s hard to miss the Selfie Project display. With its playful names, bold packaging, and illustrated designs, the range instantly stands out and promises an easy, feel-good skincare experience. Curious to see whether the products were just eye-catching or actually delivered, I picked up a selection of their sheet masks, eye patches, wash-off mask, and pimple patches to try for myself.

Overall, the Selfie Project products sit firmly in the “fun skincare” category. They’re approachable, affordable, and designed to make skincare feel enjoyable rather than intimidating. While they don’t aim to deliver dramatic or long-term results, they do offer a pleasant experience, I’ll share my honest thoughts on how each product performed and who they’re best suited for.

Sheet Masks (Bright Up, Smooth Me Up, Hydrating variants)

  • Texture & fit: Thin, decently soaked sheets that sit well on the face without excessive dripping.
  • Skin feel: Immediately hydrating and cooling. Skin looks fresher and slightly plumper right after use.
  • Results: Short-term glow and softness only. Effects don’t last beyond a few hours.
  • Irritation: No stinging or redness, which makes them beginner-friendly and suitable for most skin types.
  • Verdict: Pleasant and easy to use, but standard drugstore sheet masks. They do the job, nothing more.

Eye Masks (Eye Love U, Star Eyes)

  • Cooling effect: The strongest point. Very refreshing, especially straight from the fridge.
  • Hydration: Temporarily smooths the under-eye area and reduces dryness.
  • Dark circles & puffiness: Minimal long-term improvement. Any depuffing is short-lived.
  • Wearability: Comfortable and fun, but purely cosmetic in effect.
  • Verdict: Nice as a self-care extra, not a treatment product.

Wash-Off Mask (Glow On)

  • Texture: Lightweight gel/cream that spreads easily.
  • During use: Feels hydrating and calming, no tingling or tightening.
  • After rinse: Skin feels clean and soft, but glow is subtle.
  • Verdict: Fine as a gentle wash-off mask, but very forgettable.

Pimple Patches (Anti-Pimple Stars)

  • Adhesion: Stick well and stay in place overnight.
  • Effectiveness: Help protect spots and slightly flatten very small pimples.
  • Comparison: Work, but slower and less effective than top-tier hydrocolloid patches.
  • Verdict: Okay, but not a repurchase if you’ve tried better options.

Packaging & Concept

  • This is where the brand shines.
  • Cute illustrations, bold colours, and playful names make these fun to buy and gift.
  • Feels very Gen-Z and social-media driven.

Final verdict

  • Sheet masks: Nice ✔
  • Eye masks: Nice ✔
  • Pimple patches: Okay ✔
  • Overall performance: Average
  • Excitement factor: Low

These are fine, basic skincare treats—easy, affordable, and harmless—but nothing to write home about. If you’re already into skincare, you won’t be impressed. If you want something fun and simple for a chill self-care night, they do the job.
