Unlike, the colours of the past two years, which were both, bold and bright, being Emerald and Tangerine Tango, in the reverse chronological order, the colour of the year 2014 is a muted shade of purple, called ‘Radiant Orchid’.

I have started building a "radiant orchid" collection 😛
This is definitely more wearable color than Emerald (which I absolutely adore).
I had an unplanned collection of Emerald by the end of the year! 😀 Can't ever get enough of green! @_@ This though, I'll be picky about! 😀 x
I agree with you that purple is definitely the statement colour right now! I think pastels (lilac in this case) are really on trend at the moment. Especially with the winter weather, lilac coats are in fashion!
